Jodhpur, Aug. 8 -- The Rajasthan high court has held that the Indian Body Builders Federation (IBBF) is a national-level body duly recognised by the Union ministry of youth affairs and sports and hence certificates issued by the IBBF are valid for recruitment and for awarding weightage of marks, a lawyer familiar with the case said on Thursday. The petitioner, Garvit Vyas, contended that the selected candidate's sports certificate, issued by the IBBF, was not valid as the federation was not recognised by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), which, according to him, rendered the certificate ineligible for consideration. A division bench comprising justice Kuldeep Mathur and justice Baljinder Singh Sandhu rejected this argument after examining official records and responses from the Union government. The bench noted, "From a bare perusal of these letters, it can safely be concluded that the IBBF is a national level federation duly recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and hence, the certificates issued by it are certainly recognisable and deserve to be considered for the purpose of recruitment and weightage of marks." htc...
