India, Aug. 14 -- After numerous ensemble casts and two-hero projects, Ishwak Singh recently stepped into the spotlight as the lead in the web series Mitti. While this marks a new milestone in his career, the 35-year-old actor is clear about what truly drives him. Rather than focusing on lead roles, Ishwak's priority lies in "chasing depth and embracing discomfort" as an artist. "Beyond the plot, I look at what the character arc offers, the depth I get to explore," he explains. "I ask myself: does this role challenge me and push me out of my comfort zone? I'm always ready to experiment," the actor adds. Since his debut in Raanjhanaa (2013), Ishwak has won appreciation for performances in Rocket Boys, Paatal Lok, and Berlin. Grateful for the recognition, he credits the filmmakers and well-written roles for his success. "It's a blessing to collaborate with visionary teams and be trusted with meaningful characters. That's always been my motivation," he says. Acknowledging that the journey hasn't been without setbacks, Ishwak adds, "Some roles work, some don't. That's part of the process." He also says he has no regrets about missed opportunities or roles he turned down. "If I say no, it's because the role lacked conviction. Missing out or saying no is just part of every actor's story. For me, powerful writing and meaningful arcs are non-negotiable," Ishwak ends....
