Bahraich, Jan. 13 -- A day after a woman and her two minor daughters were found dead in a pond in Bahraich's Payagpur, police on Monday arrested her husband and parents-in-law for cruelty and dowry harassment that allegedly caused their deaths. The incident had sent shockwaves through the area. The bodies of Asha alias Meenu, 35, and her daughters, aged seven and two years, were found in a pond situated behind their house in the Kotbazar area of Payagpur. Asha was harassed for not giving birth to a male child. Her in-laws demanded additional dowry and subjected her to continuous mental and physical abuse, her father alleged. The three accused were booked under Section 85 (cruelty by husband or relatives) and Section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the BNS, along with Sections 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act....
