PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 4 -- The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) has announced strict security measures for the High School and Intermediate examinations to be held from February 18 to March 12 across the 75 districts of the state. Out of the nine-day examination schedule, seven days have been described as "very high alert" days in view of sensitive subjects and past incidents related to cheating, paper leaks, and law-and-order problems, officials said. According to an official notification issued on Monday by UP Board secretary Bhagwati Singh, 18 districts across the state have been marked as sensitive, and examinations on several dates will be conducted under high vigilance. The Board has strengthened monitoring arrangements to ensure that the examination process remains fair and transparent. Examinations scheduled under "very high alert" mode include the Intermediate English in second shift on February 20, High School English in first shift as well as Intermediate Biology and Mathematics in second shift on February 23, High School Science in first shift and Intermediate Chemistry and Social Science in second shift on February 25 besides High School mathematics in first shift and Intermediate Physics in second shift on February 27. Special surveillance will also be maintained on designated "high alert" days that includes High School Social Science and Intermediate Political Science papers in the first shift on February 20, High School Home Science in the first shift on February 21, High School English in the first shift on February 23, and High School Science in the first shift on February 25. Special surveillance will also be maintained on February 26 during the first shift for High School Mathematics and Intermediate Geography, as well as on February 27 during the second shift for related subjects. "High alert" arrangements will be in place for the High School Hindi examination in the first shift and the Intermediate Hindi and General Hindi examinations in the second shift on February 18, Intermediate Civics exam in second shift on February 19, High school social science paper in first shift on February 20, High School Home science in first shift and Intermediate History exam in second shift on February 21, Intermediate Economics paper in second shift on February 24 and Intermediate Geography exam in second shift on February 26, officials said. Additional flying squads will be deployed in sensitive districts and examination centres, while all centres will be covered via CCTV surveillance. The accountability of centre administrators has been clearly fixed, and district administrations have been instructed to remain fully vigilant throughout the examination period. The Board has warned that strict action will be taken against malpractices and individuals attempting to disturb the examination process, officials added.
