LUCKNOW, June 29 -- In a move to help residents pay their house tax on time, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) will keep all zonal offices and cash counters open on Sunday. This decision comes just a day before the June 30 deadline to avail a 10% discount on timely house tax payments. The LMC has set June 30 as the final date to benefit from the rebate offered for the current financial year. A large number of residents are expected to visit the offices in the coming days, the civic body announced in a press release on Saturday. Following instructions from municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar, offices will operate from 10am to 5pm on Sunday to support last-minute payments and ensure citizens face no difficulties. The corporation is encouraging maximum participation in the scheme to boost revenue while offering financial relief to taxpayers. Officials believe the move will help ease the tax burden on citizens and support city development. Chief tax assessment officer Ashok Singh urged homeowners to make use of the offer. "All house owners should deposit their house tax by June 30 to get the 10% discount and contribute to the city's development," he said.
