Kanpur, Sept. 3 -- The illegally constructed house of a man accused of raping and murdering a three-year-old girl, was demolished by the district administration in Chilla, Banda, on Tuesday evening. The action was taken weeks after the minor succumbed to her injuries at LLR Hospital, Kanpur. "In compliance with the orders of the tehsil court Palani, the house of the rape accused has been demolished using a bulldozer," said Sandeep Tiwari, SHO, Chilla. The accused, Sunil Nishad, is alleged to have abducted the girl from outside her house in Chilla on the evening of June 3. According to the police, he lured the child away, took her to his house, and, after consuming alcohol, sexually assaulted her. The police charge that Nishad placed her in an icebox used for selling fish and abandoned her in a jungle in Padarthpur, approximately six kilometres away. She was discovered by police later that night based on information provided by the accused after his arrest. The victim was first taken to the district hospital and later referred to LLR Hospital in Kanpur due to the seriousness of her injuries. She fought for her life for eight days before passing away on the morning of June 11. Later, an investigation into the accused's property was initiated on the orders of the District Magistrate. The probe found the construction to be illegally built on Gram Sabha land.
