LUCKNOW, July 27 -- The Balrampur district administration on Saturday demolished the house of Mohd Sabroz, nephew of Jalaluddin Shah alias Chhangur Baba, the alleged kingpin of a religious conversion and money laundering racket. The structure was located on government land in Rehra Mafi village under Utraula Tehsil and was brought down using bulldozers, authorities said. Sabroz, arrested by the Uttar Pradesh anti-terrorism squad (ATS) on July 19, is alleged to have managed Chhangur Baba's network in Balrampur. According to officials, the property was constructed without approval and multiple notices had been served before the demolition. The operation was conducted in the presence of heavy security and administrative staff. SDM Prajapati said Sabroz had encroached upon government land despite repeated warnings.
