Hosts Uttar Pradesh exponents claim two silver medals on Day 3
LUCKNOW, May 12 -- Hosts Uttar Pradesh made its presence felt on the third day of the 13th National Senior Pencak Silat Championship by winning two silver medals, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Multipurpose Hall located at KD Singh 'Babu' Stadium. Medals were decided in many categories on the third day.
In the women's senior solo, Tanisha Kashyap of Uttar Pradesh performed brilliantly and won the silver medal. The gold medal of this category was won by Diksha Reddy of Madhya Pradesh, while the bronze medals were won by Sonia of Chandigarh and Kirakanshi Kishore Yevale of Maharashtra.
In the men's senior regu (three players), the team of Shiva Sharma, Prashant Rawat and Akash Shukla of Uttar Pradesh won the silver medal. In this category, the team of Okar Ganesh, Anshul Kamble and Vaibhav of Maharashtra achieved golden success. Bronze medals were shared by Sudarshan, S and Logeswaran of Tamil Nadu and Vishwakarma Mahato, Shobhan Das and Yash Gupta of West Bengal.
Madhya Pradesh and Delhi also won two gold medals each. Odisha, West Bengal, Manipur and Maharashtra got one gold medal each. In the women's senior Tunggal, Bhumika Jain of Madhya Pradesh won gold medal. Hinokali of Nagaland got the silver while Simran of Chandigarh and Kirtana Acharya of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman-Diu got the bronze medal.
In the women's senior Ganda (double performance), the pair of Pooja Kumari and Sarita Maurya of Delhi won the gold medal who defeated Prajakta Prabhakar and Riya Rajesh of Maharashtra. Jagriti Yogi and Diksha Reddy of Madhya Pradesh and TB Chanu and TD Chanu of Manipur got bronze medals.
In the women's Senior Regu (three players), the team of Mithali, Sheetal and Muskan of Delhi won the gold while the team of Ashita Shankar Yadav, Riya Rajesh and Prajakta of Maharashtra had to be satisfied with the silver medal. Bronze medals were bagged by the teams of Nagaland's Aviklal V Sheki, Hinokali, Hatineim Khangsai and Jammu & Kashmir's Preesha Nisar, Tausifa Hassan and Farzana Fayaz.
In the men's senior solo, Odisha's Sohil Gurung won the gold medal. Assam Rifles' Hudirom Bishan Meitei won the silver medal, while SSB's Aryan and Jammu & Kashmir's Jahangir Shafi won the bronze medals.
In the men's senior tunggal, West Bengal's Raja Das won the gold medal, Assam Rifles' Hudirom Bishan Meitei won the silver medal, while Maharashtra's Krishna Narsingh Panchal and Jammu and Kashmir's Ravis Ahmed won the bronze medals.
In the men's senior ganda (Double Performance), Manipur's Sudhir Meitei and Premchand pair won the gold medal. Hudirom Bishan Meitei and Mizajur Rahman of Assam Rifles won silver while Sahil Kumar Das and Shobhan Das of West Bengal and Adil Ahmed Bhat and Shaukat Ahmed Lone of All India Police Sports Control Board won bronze medals....
