Hospitals told to report all foreign patients to CMO
LUCKNOW, Nov. 12 -- Private and government hospitals in the state capital will no longer be able to treat foreign patients without informing authorities.
Details of every foreign patient-whether seen in outpatient department (OPD) or emergency-must be reported to the chief medical officer's (CMO) office, officials said on Monday.
CMO Dr N B Singh on Tuesday issued directives to all private nursing homes and government hospitals, warning that strict action would be taken against any facility failing to comply.
Dr Singh said the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has introduced a registration system to track foreign patients. Foreign nationals will submit Form C-S through the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).
A letter from the Police Commissioner (Intelligence and Security) also states that, in line with the Ministry's notification, details of foreign nationals staying in hotels, guest houses, hostels, hospitals, religious places, educational institutions, or private residences must be shared.
Within 24 hours of a foreign national's arrival, the owner, manager, or caretaker must complete the online Form C-S using the provided link, generate an ID, and enter the foreign national's information, CMO Dr N B Singh added....
