Meerut, Nov. 6 -- Tension gripped Chaudhary Charan Singh (CCS) University late on Tuesday night after a student was shot at and stabbed multiple times on the campus. The victim, Aryan Rana, alleged that a history-sheeter, Akshay Bainsla, along with his associates assaulted him following a heated argument over money. According to police, Rana, a resident of Mora village, is currently pursuing studies while living in Meerut. In his complaint, he stated that on Tuesday night, Bainsla, a resident of the Partapur area, called him to the university campus. Upon reaching there, Bainsla allegedly demanded money from him to buy beer. When Rana refused, Bainsla and his associates launched a violent attack, firing shots and stabbing him several times before fleeing the scene. Police reached the campus soon after receiving information and began an investigation. A case under charges of robbery and attempt to murder has been registered at the medical police station against three named accused, including Bainsla, and several unidentified students. SP City Ayush Vikram Singh confirmed that the main accused, Baisla, is a known history-sheeter with multiple criminal cases already registered against him. "A special team has been constituted to arrest the accused. All those involved will be nabbed soon. The entire case is under thorough investigation," he said. A senior university official said that the students named in the FIR already have a history of involvement in violent incidents within the university.
