LUCKNOW, Jan. 9 -- The Lucknow University (LU) recorded its highest enrolment in the last five years as a total 1,83,350 students took admission in the LU and its affiliated colleges in 2025-26 academic session, according to official data released by the university administration on Thursday. University officials said it reflects growing student confidence in LU's academic ecosystem, expanding course offerings and improved admission processes. The growing number of enrolment highlights the university's academic credibility and its ability to attract a diverse pool of students," claimed LU spokesperson Prof Mukul Srivastava. The university administration also noted that the smooth conduct of the admission process, timely counselling schedules and transparency in seat allocation played a key role in achieving the milestone. Infrastructure upgrades and emphasis on research, innovation and employability were cited as additional factors contributing to the rise in enrolment. With the new academic session underway, Lucknow University is now focusing on ensuring adequate academic resources, faculty support and student facilities to accommodate the increased strength and maintain educational quality.
