PRAYAGRAJ, June 4 -- The Allahabad high court has granted bail to Samajwadi Party MLA Jahid Beg alias Jahid Jamal Beg, in a case related to the suicide of a teenage maid at his Bhadohi residence. His wife, Seema Beg, has been granted anticipatory bail. The FIR was lodged under Section 108 of the BNS (abetment to suicide). The court observed no direct evidence of instigation or abetment by the couple, and no suicide note was found. On September 9, 2024 at the residence of Jahid Jamal Beg and his wife Seema Beg, a an 18-year-old girl who was working in the house of the applicant as maid, was found dead under suspicious circumstances.
