Lucknow, April 8 -- Over 50 people from 9 to 50 years of age spent their Sunday deciphering history from the ruins of the once grandiose Lal Baradari and other nawabi era structures on the Lucknow University campus, during a heritage walk organised by 'Citizens for Lucknow' with the support of Lucknow University.

The walk, a part of efforts to create awareness about preserving the heritage structures, was led by LU VC Prof SP Singh while Prof PK Ghosh, a retired professor from the Department of Medieval and Modern Indian History, LU, narrated the story of the monuments.

He said Nawab Ghazi-ud-Din Haider od Awadh constructed a beautiful garden in the trans-Gomti area, known as Badshah Bagh (now LU).
