Headless body found on railway track, murder suspected
PRAYAGRAJ, June 26 -- A headless body of a youth was found on the railway track near Payasi Pura village under Nawabganj police station area on Wednesday. On receiving information police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem examination . The deceased could not be identified. It is assumed that the body was thrown on the railway track after murder as the head and toes were missing.
As per reports, villagers who arrived near the railway track while walking in Payasi village on Wednesday morning, were shocked to see a headless body lying on the track. SHO of Nawabganj police station, Raghavendra Singh, spoke to villagers to find out the identity of the deceased, but no one was able to recognise him. No identity card was found on the body either. The deceased was wearing a yellow shirt and brown trousers.
Meanwhile, a young man from the nearby village of Anapur has been missing for a few days. The police are now contacting his family to see if the body could be his. The SHO said that after the postmortem of the body, it will be known whether he died due to being hit by a train or due to some other reason. Efforts are being made to identify the deceased....
