HC questions police probeinto minor's disappearance
LUCKNOW, Feb. 28 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has raised serious questions over the investigation into the disappearance of a 17-year-old girl from the Talkatora area of the city. The minor went missing from outside her residence in Saumya Vihar Colony under Talkatora police station limits on December 22, 2025. An FIR was lodged at the Talkatora police station on December 26, with the girl's mother, Geeta Kumari, expressing suspicion about the involvement of a neighbour.
On Thursday, a division bench of justice Rajnish Kumar and justice Zafeer Ahmad observed: "It appears that the investigating officer is not making the investigation properly because once it was admitted by the accused that he used to talk to the victim, then his CDR should have been procured and analyzed and the investigating officer should have proceeded accordingly." "During the hearing of the case, the court raised questions over the ongoing investigation into the case. The court has sought complete details of the probe, including analysis of the call detail records (CDR)," said advocate Sandeep Yadav, who is representing the mother of the missing girl in court.
