New Delhi, Sept. 25 -- The Delhi high court on Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking directions to the Centre and the Election Commission of India (ECI) to conduct India's general elections using ballot papers instead of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). A bench of chief justice DK Upadhyay and justice Tushar Rao Gedela declined the plea filed by one Upendra Nath Dalai, citing Supreme Court's 2024 ruling in Association for Democratic Reforms v Election Commission of India that had rejected the challenge to the use of EVMs. "...In view of the aforesaid, we decline to hear the petition and it is hereby dismissed," the court said in its order....
