New Delhi, July 26 -- The Delhi high court on Friday sought response from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on a plea filed by jailed Lok Sabha MP Abdul Rashid Sheikh alias Engineer Rashid seeking waiver of a trial court's condition asking him to bear expenses to attend the monsoon session of Parliament. A special NIA court, on July 22, granted Rashid custody parole to attend the ongoing Parliament session between July 24 and August 4, subject to him bearing the travel cost, returning to jail in the evening and not having access to mobile phones to speak to the media. Rashid filed a plea seeking directions to set aside the order to bear travel expenses and other arrangements. The court issued a notice to NIA and fixed July 29 as next date of hearing....
