HC dismisses Abdullah Azam'spleas in fake passport case
PRAYAGRAJ, July 24 -- The Allahabad high court on Wednesday dismissed two petitions filed by ex-MLA Mohammad Abdullah Azam Khan, son of senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, challenging the proceedings of a criminal case against him in the alleged fake passport and PAN card case.
Justice Sameer Jain dismissed the petitions. The court had reserved judgment after hearing both sides on July 1.
"Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, in my considered view, the instant application is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed," he said. The HC directed the trial court to proceed with the trial in accordance with law.
Abdullah Azam had filed two petitions in two different cases in the Allahabad high court.
