LUCKNOW, Aug. 21 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has directed the principal secretary, sports, to look into the grievance raised by a petitioner objecting to the use of name 'Uttar Pradesh' by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) without obtaining a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the state government. The petitioner argued that since the UPCA is registered as a private limited company, it cannot use the name of the state (Uttar Pradesh) without obtaining an NOC from the state government. The bench comprising justices Sangeeta Chandra and Brij Raj Singh passed the order on Tuesday on a petition filed by Ankesh Vashistha, a resident of Agra. The court also ordered that the issue be decided within the next eight weeks. The petitioner filed a writ in court, seeking directives for removal of 'Uttar Pradesh' from the name of UPCA. He also requested the court to suspend or cancel the UPCA's registration considering its "blatant non-compliance" of mandatory legal requirements....
