Haze and war ground flights at Lko airport
LUCKNOW, March 11 -- A combination of morning haze and the Iran-Israel conflict threw flight operations into disarray at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow, on Wednesday, with one flight diverted, several delayed and multiple Gulf-bound services cancelled.
Poor visibility after dawn forced air traffic control (ATC) to deny landing clearance to an IndiGo flight from Hyderabad, Telangana, which was due at 8:05 am. The aircraft was diverted to New Delhi.
Ground departures fared no better. The IndiGo flight to New Delhi, scheduled to leave at 6:10 am, took off nearly an hour late.
Flynas flight XY-897 to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, originally due at 6:15 am, finally departed at 9:05 am.
An IndiGo flight to Bengaluru, scheduled at 8:45 am, was airborne only around 10:00 am.
The Iran-Israel conflict, which has disrupted air routes across the region, triggered a separate wave of cancellations on Gulf routes.
Incoming IndiGo flights from Abu Dhabi (6:05 am) and Sharjah (7:05 am) were called off, as was an inbound service from Dammam due at 8:00 pm.
Outbound evening flights from Lucknow to Abu Dhabi (8:35 pm), Dammam (9:00 pm) and Sharjah (10:00 pm) were also cancelled....
