Haridwar, Jan. 12 -- Haridwar Municipal Corporation approved three new special vending zones ahead of the Ardh Kumbh fair, which is scheduled for early 2027, meeting a long-pending demand from street vendors. Municipal corporation officials say they assessed demands from the Small Scale Traders' Association before taking the decision, which aims to provide organised vending facilities during the mega religious event. Officials will set up the new zones in Haridwar, Jwalapur and near the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay multi-storey parking area. Town commissioner Nandan Kumar says a recent meeting with representatives of the Small Scale Traders' Association and authorised vendors finalised the decision.
