Gynavapi mosque committee demands ban on 'Udaipur Files'
VARANASI, July 8 -- The secretary of Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committee (AIMC), which looks after the management of the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi, has written to the commissioner of police and the district magistrate demanding a ban on the release of the movie Udaipur Files, which is set to be released on Friday, here.
Maulana Abdul Batin Nomani alleged that the movie's trailer and promotional materials made it clear that many objectionable, provocative and factless things had been shown in it, "which not only hurt the religious sentiments but could also become a serious threat to the law and order and social harmony of the city". "The administration should take steps to maintain law and order in the city. Cinema halls should be stopped from showing this film so that peace can be maintained," he wrote....
