Guv unveils new facilities at Lucknow girls' home
LUCKNOW, Nov. 22 -- Governor and chancellor of state universities Anandiben Patel on Friday inaugurated various infrastructure facilities funded and developed by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, at the Government Children's Home (Girls) in Sindhi Kheda, Lucknow.
The newly added amenities include digital smart classrooms, sleeping beds and mattresses, a computer room, a renovated kitchen and dining area, a telemedicine room, and wall paneling by the university.
During the event, the governor cut her birthday cake with the girls and encouraged them to read about Ahilyabai Holkar and Rani Lakshmibai, saying the lives of these great women offer invaluable lessons in struggle, courage, and self-confidence.
She also motivated the girls to take part in social service. Referring to Vatsalya Gram, run by Sadhvi Ritambara in Mathura, she explained that the elderly and orphaned children there are supported like family.
An MoU was also signed between the state government-run Home (Juvenile), Mohan Road, Lucknow, and Amethi University, Lucknow, to provide psychiatric facilities. She added that Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur, is also bringing several innovations in this field.
The governor further stated that teachers and students from the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Lucknow's Parmarth Vidyalaya, will teach the girls online. She said she was pleased to learn that students involved in technical education are running Parmarth Vidyalaya and spreading the light of education to girls through digital classrooms....
