Varanasi, July 11 -- Guru Purnima was celebrated with great devotion and spiritual enthusiasm across Varanasi on Sunday. From the early hours of the morning, the ghats of Kashi were packed with devotees. A large crowd was seen at major ghats including Dashashwamedh, Rajendra Prasad, Sheetla Ghat and Assi Ghat. Devotees also visited various Matts and Ashrams to pay homage to their gurus. Notable footfall was recorded at Baba Kinaram Ashram, Garhwa Ashram, Satua Baba Ashram, Annapurna Matt and Aghoreshwar Ashram. At the Aghor Peeth Ashram, followers paid their respects to Baba Sambhav Ram, with many receiving spiritual initiation. Prasad was distributed generously across all ashrams. A remarkable example of India's cultural harmony was seen at the ancient Patalpuri Math, associated with the Ramanandi sect. In his address, Baba Balak Devacharya Maharaj said that Rampanth represents a cultural renaissance, fostering values of kindness, love, compassion, peace, and public welfare. "Every person living on the land of Akhand Bharat shares the same DNA, ancestry, traditions, and culture. We are inseparable. Rampanth welcomes everyone-there is no place for discrimination here." He emphasised that Guru Purnima is the most important festival to express gratitude to one's Guru, reinforcing the sacred bond between guru and disciple. "True Guru Diksha lies in accepting initiation, following the guru's path, dedicating oneself to public welfare, living for the nation, preserving family unity, and showing respect for all. Success in any field is impossible without the guidance of a guru."...
