LUCKNOW, Aug. 31 -- In a disturbing incident of gun violence in an upscale commercial hub, unidentified assailants opened fire on a public relations (PR) manager of a popular nightclub late Friday night, critically injuring him, near the prominent Summit Building in Vibhuti Khand, which is often in the news for late night brawls. The victim, identified as Hamza (32), works as the PR manager of Hype Room. According to Vibhuti Khand station house officer (SHO) Sunil Kumar Singh, Hamza was attacked near the Cyber Heights area while returning home. "The attackers surrounded Hamza and fired multiple shots before fleeing, assuming he was dead," the SHO said. Police rushed the severely injured man to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Due to his critical condition, he was later referred to KGMU Trauma Centre, where his condition is now stable. Preliminary investigation suggests the shooting stemmed from a previous altercation inside the nightclub. "Hamza told us the assailants had earlier misbehaved inside the club. One night, the group, under the influence of alcohol, created a ruckus, harassed guests, and even argued with the DJ to play specific songs and serve drinks after closing hours," Singh said. The men were eventually thrown out of the club with the help of bouncers. "On Friday night, after finishing work, Hamza was attacked by the same group, who had been waiting for him," added the SHO. Police have registered an FIR and are trying to identify the attackers. "The accused will be arrested soon," said Singh....
