GRP nabs youth for hoax bomb threat
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 30 -- After searching for him for almost five months, the Prayagraj GRP arrested a youth from Prayagraj Junction on Sunday night for spreading rumours about a bomb planted in a train, and thus creating panic among the passengers.
It may be mentioned that on April 8, the accused Suraj Gaur called the police and informed them that a bomb had been planted on board train number 22103 Ayodhya Superfast Express. He claimed that a woman from Pakistan was travelling in the train and had a bomb in her bag, which would blow up the train.
GRP inspector Aklesh Kumar Singh said that the accused Suraj Gaur is a resident of Bettiah police station area in Kushinagar district. He is accused of spreading fear among the public by spreading false information.
After Gaur's hoax call, the train was immediately stopped at Jangi Railway Station, and the bomb squad searched the entire compartment. However, the information was found to be completely false.
