LUCKNOW, Oct. 11 -- The differences between Samajwadi Party (SP)'s Rampur MP Maulana Mohibullah Nadvi and senior party leader Azam Khan seem to be growing with the former targeting Khan over the latter's 'taunts' at him on several occasions. On his being termed an 'outsider' and allegations of not visiting Rampur, Nadvi during his recent interaction with the media said: "Seven generations of my family are rooted in Rampur, and Azam Khan's grandfather came from Bijnor. Perhaps this is why he has a good relationship with the Bijnor MP, and the Rampur MP is not allowed entry. I have no regrets about this." On Khan's reported remarks that he does not know Nadvi, the SP MP said: "It makes no difference to me as people of Rampur have elected me as their representative in Lok Sabha. They recognise me and that's why they made me win the election in just 19 days. When the people here learned that I was from here, they came together." As per news reports, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had asked Nadvi to accompany him to Khan's house during Yadav's visit there on October 8. However, Khan insisted that only the SP chief should visit him. Following it, Nadvi stayed back in Bareilly while Yadav left for Rampur. "The party, Akhilesh Yadav and the public gave me a chance. The public supports ideology, not just any one family. When someone starts considering decency as weakness, there is a problem. No one has the power to stop me from coming to Rampur," the SP MP said....
