Green push in focus as 5K RSSvolunteers join march in Sarojini Nagar
LUCKNOW, April 6 -- More than 5,000 volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) took part in a route march at the Sainik School ground in Sarojini Nagar on Sunday where local MLA Rajeshwar Singh also outlined an environmental and development roadmap for the constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Singh described the march as a display of discipline, unity and "nation first" spirit and lauded the RSS's role in promoting service and national values. During another programme, he also called for developing villages in Sarojini Nagar as models of sustainable growth with emphasis on water conservation, tree plantation and solar energy.
He directed village heads to improve groundwater recharge, noting that Lucknow's water table has fallen by over 20 metres in the past two decades.
He said Banthra would be developed as UP's first net-zero nagar panchayat. htc...
