Grand celebrations mark Jagat Taran College's Golden Jubilee
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 24 -- Jagat Taran Girls Degree College, a constituent college of Allahabad University (AU), marked its 50th anniversary on Tuesday with grand Golden Jubilee celebrations. The event was held at the Ravindralaya auditorium in the presence of distinguished guests, including chief guest and former Supreme Court judge Rajesh Kumar Agrawal and special guest Prof Anamika Rai.
Prof Asim Kumar Mukherjee, chairman of the college managing committee, highlighted the college's unwavering commitment to empowering lakhs of female students over the years.
"I confidently say that this process of empowerment will continue uninterrupted," he remarked.
Principal Prof Ashima Ghosh described the institution's fifty-year journey as one of pride and progress. "This college has continuously empowered its students and will keep doing so in the future," she added.
The event featured the release of the college's commemorative souvenir and magazine "The Banyan Tree". The souvenir was edited by Kasturi Bhardwaj, while the magazine was curated by Kajal Dev and Anurag Pandey.
Students captivated the audience with a classical dance performance titled 'Swar Tu Ishwar Hai', directed by Namrata Dev and choreographed by Sangeeta Vishwakarma of Prayag Sangeet Samiti. Another highlight was the enchanting classical music recital by alumna Chitra Dayal Chaurasia.
In recognition of their talents and achievements, students were awarded certificates and prizes during the ceremony. The college also honoured former principal Kamla Dubey, retired faculty members, staff and notable alumni for their contributions and accomplishments....
