Govt to formulate flower and honey policies soon: Dhami
Dehradun, May 18 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Saturday that the state government will soon formulate flower and honey policies for the state.
He made the announcement during the inauguration the modern technology-based "E-RUPI" system and launch of four ambitious agricultural policies on kiwi, dragon fruit, post-harvest apple, and millet, at the secretariat in Dehradun.
Addressing a gathering, Dhami said that the E-RUPI system is a new initiative for the state's farmers. "This system will become a transparent, fast, and middleman-free digital payment medium for farmers. Under the pilot project of the system, subsidy amounts will be sent directly to farmers in the form of e-vouchers (via SMS or QR code) to their mobile phones, which they can use to purchase fertilisers, seeds, medicines, and other agricultural inputs from authorised centres or vendors."
He directed officials to conduct trainings in villages to raise awareness among farmers, ensuring they can fully benefit from this technology. "The primary objective of the initiatives is to strengthen agriculture and employment in both the hills and plains to effectively address issues like migration. These schemes will become milestones in making Uttarakhand a self-reliant, empowered, and leading agricultural state," he said....
