LUCKNOW, March 6 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has released Rs.11.12 crore to expand the Police Training College in Sitapur, a move that will double the institution's training capacity. The home department issued the order on Thursday, clearing funds primarily for the construction of residential buildings at the training college. According to officials, the expansion project aims to increase the intake capacity of the college so that a larger number of police personnel can undergo training at the same time. The total project cost has been estimated at Rs.85.96 crore. Contracts worth around Rs.75.09 crore have already been awarded, while construction work amounting to approximately Rs.60.21 crore has been completed so far. The freshly approved amount of Rs.11,12,16,000 will be used to meet part of the remaining expenditure to complete the residential facilities linked to the expansion project. The funds will be drawn from the budget allocation for the financial year 2025-26 under the police department's head for the construction of residential buildings. Officials said the expansion of the Sitapur Police Training College is part of the state's broader strategy to upgrade police training facilities and improve the capacity of the force to train recruits in modern policing methods.htc...
