Govt may soon fill vacant prison, telecom DG posts
LUCKNOW, June 2 -- The posts of director general (DG) of prison and DG of telecom left vacant after the retirement of PV Ramasastry (1989 batch, IPS) and Sanjay M Tarade (1990 batch, IPS) are likely to be filled by two recently elevated DG rank officials of 1992 batch, said senior government officials.
A senior home department official said Ashutosh Pandey, who was posted as additional DG (ADG) of State Special Investigation Team (SSIT) of Economic Offence Wings and Anand Swaroop, who was posted as ADG of police headquarters, have been promoted to the DG rank in the same place. He said Pandey and Swaroop were likely to fill the two vacant DG posts. He said the state government will soon decide over posting of the officers.
On Saturday, 1991 batch IPS officer Rajeev Krishna filled the vacant post of DGP after the retirement of 1990 batch officer Prashant Kumar. Also, three deputy inspector general (DIG) ranks officials including Kiran Yadav, Arvind Chaturvedi and Tej Swaroop Singh also retired on Saturday....
