Kanpur, March 21 -- With a few suspected cases of coronavirus trying to escape or resist their stay in government-arranged facilities, the health department is acquiring at least two apartment buildings on the outskirts of Kanpur to lodge such patients for mandatory 14-day isolation.

"The process to finalise two buildings where the health department would ensure home-like conditions to suspects for 14 days of monitoring period is on," said two officials of chief medical officer's (CMO) team.

At the moment, 400 of the 800 persons who traveled abroad and returned to Kanpur were being monitored.
