LUCKNOW, Dec. 1 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the inclusion of 154 lecturers, assistant professors, associate professors and retired higher education personnel under the old pension scheme instead of the national pension system. This decision, approved by state higher education minister Yogendra Upadhyay, was made after examining the proposals submitted by the higher education department and the provisions contained in the finance department's government order, a spokesperson said. Upadhyay said the state government gives top priority to the welfare, respect, and social security of teachers. According to an order issued by special secretary, higher Education Girijesh Tyagi, the director, higher education, Uttar Pradesh, Prayagraj, has been directed to ensure accuracy, authenticity and re-examination of all records related to the 154 teachers/employees in accordance with the provisions described in the finance department's government orders before issuing the order. htc...
