Govt, cops to inspect de-addiction centres
Dehradun, July 29 -- The Special Task Force's Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) will conduct joint inspections of de-addiction centres and pharmaceutical companies to ensure centres are complying with standard operating procedures (SOPs), officials aware of the matter said, adding that the inspections will be carried out in coordination with the State Mental Health Authority (SMHA), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
At a meeting held at the STF office in Dehradun on Monday, senior officials discussed a detailed action plan to curb both the supply and demand of narcotics in the state.
SSP STF Navneet Singh Bhullar said, "As a part of Drug Free Devbhoomi mission of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, our ANTF will conduct joint inspections of de-addiction centres and pharmaceutical companies in coordination with the SMHA, NCB, and FDA."
The SMHA will begin inspecting de-addiction centres across the state, with STF personnel accompanying them. A lab technician will also be part of the team to conduct on-site urine testing of patients to assess the effectiveness of treatment being provided....
