Governor exhorts universities to adopt shelter homes for girls
LUCKNOW, Sept. 25 -- Governor Anandiben Patel on Wednesday urged universities to adopt shelter homes for girl children and actively support their development. She said young girls must be trained in vocational activities.
Patel inspected a home for girls operated by the state rural development department in Sindhikheda of Para here. She inaugurated a beauty parlour training centre there and encouraged girls to learn mehndi art. She asked the resident to regularly go for health checkups.
The governor spoke to the residents about their studies, daily routine and aspirations. She encouraged girls to study diligently, learn new skills, and take special care of their health.
She directed the institute to establish a proper timetable and ensure its adherence, and asked the director to keep in touch with those who leave the institute. HTC...
