LUCKNOW, May 26 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday issued a show cause notice to its Gonda district unit chief Amar Kishore Kashyap seeking explanation on a video that went viral on social media in which Kashyap is purportedly seen hugging a female party worker. Govind Narain Shukla, BJP state general secretary, issued the notice seeking explanation within seven days. The video is reported to be of April 12, 2025, from the CCTV cameras installed at the party's Gonda office and captured around 9.30pm. After the video went viral on social media, Kashyap on Sunday gave an explanation through a video message.
