LUCKNOW, July 20 -- The Gomti riverfront in the state capital is set to undergo a fresh wave of development focused on public convenience and recreational facilities with the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) planning work worth Rs 11 crore on a 380-metre stretch between the ADCP office and Pipraghat, an official release stated on Saturday. LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar, during a site inspection on Saturday, directed officials to begin work on a detailed action plan. Funded by UP Housing and Development Board's infrastructure fund, the project will include the construction of a jogging track, yoga hut, open gym, gazebos, swings, landscape upgrades and decorative lighting, the press release said. To make the riverfront more accessible to the public, the number of entry and exit points between Lohia Setu and the ADCP office will be increased from the existing two to five. Kumar emphasised that ease of access and public comfort will remain the key focus of the development.In addition, the LDA will construct a 500-metre jogging track at Mor Pankhi Lawn near Marine Drive to promote fitness among citizens. A toilet block costing Rs 28 lakh will also be built near the CO office to enhance visitor convenience.The project aims to create a more vibrant, safe and inclusive space along the riverfront where people can walk, exercise, relax and spend quality time....
