Global Gandhi Network hosts prayer meet to honour Pahalgam victims
LUCKNOW, April 29 -- The Global Gandhi Network held a virtual International Peace Prayer Meet on Monday to honour the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir and advocate for global peace and unity. The event saw nearly two hundred participants from various countries, including India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, the UK, the USA, and Mexico.
Key speakers at the event included Ram Dutt Tripathi, a senior journalist and Sarvodaya activist; Chandan Pal, president of the Sarva Seva Sangh; prof Anand Kumar, sociologist and president of Citizens for Democracy; Anamik Shah, former vice-chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapeeth; Sudarshan Iyengar, director of the Gandhi Research Foundation; A Annamalai, director of the National Gandhi Memorial Museum; Lubna Yasmin, advocate at the Supreme Court of Bangladesh; and Siby K Joseph, a Gandhian scholar based in Sevagram.
Notable personalities who attended the gathering included Medha Patkar, social activist; Sam Pitroda, technocrat and policy leader; Uday Dandavate, Gandhian and urban strategist; Mohammad Reza Rafat, former director of Environment Protection, Ghazni Province, Afghanistan; and Vijay Tambe, secretary of the Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan.
