Glitches slow deed registrations as service resumes
Agra, Nov. 13 -- After remaining suspended for four days, the online registration of sale deeds and other documents began in the state on Wednesday, albeit with technical glitches. As such, agitated lawyers at the tehsil and sub-registrar offices in Agra handed over a memorandum seeking early restoration of normalcy in the registration of documents.
It may be recalled that online registration of property documents, including sale deeds, was suspended in Uttar Pradesh from November 8 to November 11 because of the unavailability of servers set for technical migration, as per an official notification issued earlier this month.
The state stamp and registration department's online portal (IGRSUP) was migrated from the MeghRaj cloud server to the National Government Cloud (NGC) during these four days.
"The online registration of property documents remained suspended for four days and was expected to be restored on Wednesday. However, the pace of work was quite slow, causing problems to those coming to offices on Wednesday,' complained Arvind Kumar Dubey, the general secretary of Tehsil Bar Association of Agra.
