Girl goes missing from shelterhome, kidnapping suspected
MEERUT, June 25 -- A 17-year-old girl has reportedly gone missing from a government-run shelter home in Saharanpur's Pushpanjali locality under Janakpuri police station limits, authorities said.
The shelter home superintendent filed a complaint late on Monday evening, suspecting kidnapping. Efforts are on to trace the girl, and CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined, they added.
Shelter home superintendent Sulekha stated in her complaint that the girl, a native of Jalandhar in Punjab, was found missing in the wee hours of June 23, police said, adding the complainant suspected that the girl might have been kidnapped.
