girl found murdered in field
Prayagraj, Nov. 7 -- The body of a 15-year-old mentally challenged girl was found in a field near her home in Kanti village, under Ghoorpur police station area of Prayagraj, on Thursday morning.
Police said the girl, had gone to the field around 5.30 am to relieve herself. Around 8 am, villagers found her lying in a pool of blood about 100 metres from her house. Her throat had been slit with a sharp weapon. On receiving the information, senior police officers, including police commissioner Joginder Kumar, joint commissioner Ajay Pal Sharma, and ACP Kaundhiyara, reached the spot.
The body was sent for post-mortem examination. Deceased family told police they had no dispute with anyone and could not suspect anyone's involvement. According to DCP (Trans Yamuna) Vivek Chandra Yadav, there were injury marks on the girl's neck, but no evidence of sexual assault was found. He said that all possible angles are being investigated.
