Rudrapur, Jan. 16 -- A case has been registered against a 22-year-old man for allegedly abducting and assaulting a 17-year-old girl on Wednesday evening, police in Kashipur said. The minor has been rescued, while the accused remains at large, officials said.
According to Harendra Choudhary, inspector of Kashipur police station, the FIR was lodged based on a complaint filed by the girl's father, a resident of Nandrampur village under Kashipur police limits.
"The minor was rescued on the same day, and efforts are underway to arrest the accused," Choudhary said.
In his complaint, the father stated that his daughter works at a cloth stall near Ramleela Ground in Kashipur.
She left for work around 9am on Wednesday and called at 3.16 pm, crying, saying that a man identified as Vikas (22), a resident of Hanuman Colony on Rampura Road, had kidnapped and beaten her. htc...
