LUCKNOW, Dec. 13 -- Ghazal singer Ilyas Khan entertained audience with his rendition at an event organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya as part of the monthly Horizon Series of ICCR at Rai Umanath Bali auditorium here on Friday. The programme began with Nadeem Chandpuri's ghazal "Aap aaye to baharon mein lutai khushboo" building an ambience of music followed by Parveen Shakir's famous couplet "Koobkoob phail gayi baat shina sai ki" and Bashir Badr's popular ghazal "Yun hi besabab na phira karo". Ghazals by Dil Lakhnavi, Daag Dehlvi and Ahmad Wasi added further charm to the gathering. Khumar Barabankvi's "Woh jo aaye khayaal yaad aayi" mesmerised the audience. The event concluded with Hasan Khairabadi's ghazal "Gar dil mein maine tumko basaya bura kiya". Ghazal singer Khan was accompanied by Sachin Chauhan on synthesizer, Zeeshan Abbas on Sarangi, Rakesh Arya on guitar, Ghulam Ali Khan on tabla, and Krishna Swaroop Srivastava on other instruments....
