LUCKNOW, May 3 -- A sparkling half-century by Ghanshyam Upadhyay and some fine batting Kushagra Singh helped Kooh Sports Cricket Club (KSCC) notch up a comprehensive six-wicket win over Sound Images Cricket Club in a league match of the Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Memorial T20 Tournament, at the GCRG Ground here on Friday. Ghanshyam hammered 40-ball 56 with the help of six boundaries and three sixes as KSCC romped home in 19 overs while chasing 161 to win, losing four wickets. Ghanshyam also added 81 runs for the second wicket with Krtu Raj Singh, who made 35 in 20 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes. Fahad Ahmed contributed run-a-ball 30 with help of one four and a six, but it was Kushagra, who made things possible with his 19-ball 34, which contained three boundaries and two sixes. Earlier, opener Faiz Ahmed struck 45-ball 67 with the help of six boundaries and three sixes as SICC scored 160/6. Almas Shaukat made 34. Spirited Sports Authority of India (SAI) continued their winning streak in the 1st Bula Ganguli Memorial Hockey Tournament, defeating Sports Hostel by a solitary goal, at the National College Ground here on Friday. The win, however, took SAI to top the table with nine points in three matches so far. Supriya scored the all important in the 41st minute when she converted a penalty corner into goal. Sports Hostel and SSB with six points each, are at the joint second position in the five-team tournament, whereas Under-14 XI are at the bottom of the points table with three points. In another match of the day on Friday, Under-14 XI defeated National College 4-0. Under-14 Xi dominated the proceedings from the very start and scored goals on regular intervals. Aazim put the side ahead with a field goal in the 11th minute before converting a penalty corner in the 36th minute of the second half. . Though National College boys tried to keep the rivals away, they found it hard as this time Priyanshu netted back-to-back field goals in the 57th and 58th minutes, respectively to finish off the game in style....
