LUCKNOW, Sept. 7 -- Ahead of the upcoming panchayat and MLC elections for teachers and graduates, BJP state general secretary (Organisation) Dharampal Singh on Saturday issued directives to party office-bearers of Gorakhpur region to strengthen preparations. During the meeting, discussions were also held on the launch of 'Seva Pakhwada' from September 17, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday. The initiative will run till October 2, Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, with 18 programmes planned focusing on public outreach and service activities. Singh underlined the need for strategic planning to ensure the party's success in the polls and urged the inclusion of new workers, particularly youth and women, to widen the organisation's base. He also directed that fake voter names be removed and all eligible voters be enrolled in the electoral rolls.
