Gangster-turned-politician's house seized in Kunda
PRAYAGRAJ, May 5 -- The house of Gulshan Yadav, a former associate of Kunda MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya who later joined the Samajwadi Party and currently serves as the district president of the SP, was seized by district administration officials in Kunda tehsil of Pratapgarh on Sunday.
The property, valued at around Rs 1 crore, is registered in the name of Yadav's wife, Seema Yadav.
Earlier, the administration had also seized three bank accounts belonging to Gulshan Yadav, citing his criminal history and the charges against him under the Gangster Act. Transactions through these accounts have been frozen, and police are now preparing to confiscate his properties in Prayagraj and Lucknow districts as well.
Due to multiple gangster-related charges lodged at various police stations, the district magistrate of Pratapgarh had ordered the confiscation of properties worth over Rs 7 crore allegedly amassed through criminal activities.
On Sunday morning, the investigating officer, SHO of Sangramgarh police station Satyendra Bhadoria, inspector of Kunda Kotwali Satyendra Singh, along with a police team, deputy Tehsildar Ajay Kumar Singh and revenue department officials reached the house situated on the highway in Kunda city.
The revenue department has estimated the value of the property to be approximately Rs 1 crore. Built on 112 square meters of land registered in Seema Yadav's name, the house was sealed by the administration, and a notice board was placed at the gate.
According to ASP (West) Sanjay Rai, Gulshan Yadav, listed as a history-sheeter in police records, had accumulated property worth over Rs 7 crore through criminal means. "The district magistrate had ordered its seizure. In continuation of this, the house in Kunda was also seized," he said....
