Gang of 5 held for stealing bikes to fund lifestyle
Lucknow, Aug. 6 -- What began as casual hangouts at a city mall turned into a full-blown criminal enterprise for five men in Lucknow. The Ashiyana police have busted a bike-lifting gang operating across the city, recovering 21 stolen two-wheelers from various locations, including homes and hideouts, police said.
"All arrested, aged between 18 and 24, had no prior criminal history," said DCP Central Ashish Srivastava. "They met frequently at a shopping mall and bonded over shared financial struggles."
ADCP central Mamta Rani added that the gang was meticulous about covering its tracks. "The stolen motorcycles were scattered across different locations-some hidden in their own homes, others parked at acquaintances' residences under pretext of space constraints." htc...
