LUCKNOW, Feb. 7 -- The Lucknow police have busted a gang involved in a series of robberies carried out on the pretext of offering lift in an SUV. The cops arrested seven accused and recovered Rs 40,130 cash, two illegal firearms, live cartridges, mobile phones and the vehicle used in the crimes, stated a police department press release on Friday. The accused have been identified as Rishabh Goswami (23), Akshay Kumar (25), Alok (19), Shubham Pandey (20), Rishabh Pandey, Gyani (20), and Ramsafal Rawat (30). According to police officials, the accused used a black SUV car without a number plate, offered lift to lone travellers, assaulted them inside the vehicle, looted cash and valuables, and dumped the victims at isolated locations along highways and service lanes before fleeing. The arrests were made in a joint operation by the Crime Branch, SWAT Surveillance Team (DCP North) and police teams from Sairpur, Madiaon and BKT police stations....
