LUCKNOW, Oct. 6 -- A full court welcome will be held in the courtroom of Allahabad high court Chief Justice Arun Bhansali in the Lucknow high court on Monday to welcome nine newly appointed judges who will sit in the Lucknow bench. Justice Shekhar B Saraf, Justice Ram Manohar Narayan Mishra, Justice Prashant Kumar, Justice Pramod Kumar Srivastava, Justice Zafeer Ahmad, Justice Amitabh Kumar Rai, Justice Abdhesh Kumar Chaudhary, Justice Rajeev Bharti and Justice Babita Rani will sit in Lucknow high court from Monday. With this, the total strength of judges in the Lucknow high court will be 28 against the vacancy of 56. The Oudh Bar Association (OBA) of the Lucknow high court has welcomed the decision. "It is a positive development. This will help in disposal of cases," said OBA president S Chandra. "We had requested for the appointment of 15 judges. Six more judges need to be appointed in Lucknow high court," the OBA president added. "The appointment of more judges would ensure that cases are heard and disposed of in a timely manner, providing justice to litigants. Increasing the number of judges will help reduce the pendency of cases and improve the overall efficiency of the court," said OBA general secretary advocate Lalit Kishore Tiwari. The OBA had taken up the issue with Allahabad high court Chief Justice Arun Bhansali.
